ABOUT MONGOLIAN CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION (MCF)

Established: 2001

Status: International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) Representative Office. 

Accreditation: Officially accredited by the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Mongolia to provide "Alternative childcare services."

The Mongolian Children’s Foundation is a community of passionate individuals dedicated to protecting the rights and interests of children living in vulnerable, homeless, and extreme conditions. Since our founding, we have opened our doors to orphans, half-orphans, and street children, providing them with a safe home, nutritious food, clothing, and comprehensive educational support.

Our Growth and Current Capacity

From our humble beginnings in 2001 with just 7 children, 2 teachers, and 1 ger, we have grown into a sustainable network of dedicated care. As of 2026, we operate:

6 Residential centers in total:

• 5 Centers in Ulaanbaatar (4 dedicated to young children, 2 dedicated to university-aged students).
• 1 Center in Kharkhorin, Ovorkhangai Province.
• Daycare Service (launched in 2025): Specifically for children from vulnerable families and high-risk environments.

Our Team: A dedicated staff of 17 professionals (social workers, teachers- caregivers, driver and a stoker).

Current Impact: Directly caring for 64 children and youth.

Our mission is to spread love in children’s lives and ignite the spark of hope for their future. To achieve this, we provide every child with a loving family environment and a warm, nurturing atmosphere. This allows children to understand the true meaning of family and grow up realizing their own worth through genuine care and affection.

OUR LEADERSHIP AND TEAM

Since 2013, the Mongolian Children’s Foundation has been led by Executive Director A. Khongortsetseg, whose connection to the organization is deeply personal - she was raised and cared for under MCF’s care since childhood. Her journey from being a beneficiary to a good leader embodies the success of our mission. She holds a bachelor’s degree in law and master’s degrees in public administration and business administrations.  

Today, she leads with the mentorship and guidance of our founder, Cornelia Vreugdenhil, supported by a management team of 5 and a total staff of 17 dedicated professionals.
